Since the maritime zone of Herceg Novi is located at the point where the open sea, coast and seabed due to the impact of waves is extremely rocky and rough, thus it makes a great for challenge for diving fans and memorable moments, hence you can visit countless caves and riffs. Diving club “Adriatic Blue” provides you with all activities related to diving regardless of whether you are beginners or advanced divers. Instructors and assistants organize excursions to shipwrecks, underwater caves and other attractions where you can meet all splendors of the underwater world and everything else hidden in the depths of our offshore. INTRO DIVE This diving program is intended for people who want to dive for the first time below the sea surface with complete diving equipment, accompanied by a diving instructor. DESCRIPTION OF INTRO DIVE PROGRAM – The whole program takes place om the beach in front of the diving club; we organize a test dive in the open sea and suggest that your first dive is going to be at the island Mamula. – Introductory meeting and familiarization with rules of diving and diving equipment – Putting on the equipment with the help of instructors and entering into the water – Testing of equipment on the water and diving under the water – Dive takes from 25 to 30 minutes, max. depth of 6 meters – Group for diving consists of one instructor and no more than two participants – During the dive, there is a possibility of video recording and photographing under water – The program takes about 90 minutes We wish you a pleasant and enjoyable first diving experience, see you at the INTRO dive and after that in the diving school. Daily diving The program for certified divers: – Diving day starts coming to the club half an hour before departure – Talks, selection of a location, plan of the dive and equipment selection – At 10 AM boarding equipment in the boat and departure for the first dive – Dive takes up to 40 minutes at depths that divers are licensed for – Diving in groups of a maximum of 8 people, accompanied by an instructor or divemaster – After the first dive, an interval of 1 to 2 hours and a tour of the island Mamula or beach Zanjic or beach Dobrec – After the break, going to the second dive for up to 35 min – After the second dive, going back to the club, cleaning of equipment and verification of the carnet Children’s diving Did you know that since from eight years of age, you can learn to dive with real diving equipment? After lectures and exercises, you will enter the marine world with your diving instructor. This program is made under standards of CMAS and PADI children’s diving and it is intended for children who are looking for fun and new marine adventure. Children aged 8-11 years, dive to max depth of 2 meters. Children aged 12-14 years, dive to max depth of 4 meters. Dive takes 30 minutes and during that time you can be photographed or filmed by underwater camera. In the winter period we organize children’s diving at the indoor pool of Institute Igalo. The tunnel was built in the strictest secrecy in late 70s of the last century for the needs of former Yugoslav Navy and the main purpose of the tunnel was the accommodation and masking of submarines and their crews. Length of the tunnel is 150 meters, width of 7 meters and a maximum depth of 7 meters. Jakubica Caves Diving site Jakubica Caves is located on the Lustica Peninsula in the open sea between the beach Dobrec and the beach Žanjic. At this location, there are two caves length of about 10 meters and between them there is a reef that drops to 18 meters deep, so this location is attractive for beginners and divers who first encounter with the underwater cave. Blue Cave Blue Cave popular resort near Herceg Novi is one of the most attractive in the series of caves located on the peninsula Lustica, situated between the bay Golden Port and Mokra gora Cape. It is distant from Herceg Novi for about 10 kilometers. It has two entrances – openings at angle of 45 degrees, the height from the sea level to the top of the ceiling is 9 m, a depth of 3 – 5 m. Thus, the cave can be entered with a small boat. Its name comes from the unusual profound blue during clear days due to reflection of sunlight mirrored by the surface. Dive in the Blue Cave is an unforgettable experience and an ideal location for your photo safari. Mermaid Hole The most beautiful underwater cave of this part of the coast is located on the south side of the peninsula Lustica at a distance of about 7 nm from the city port Square. This cave begins near the rugged and steep coast at a depth of 2 meters and a vertical drop to a depth of 15 meters and continues by sloping decline to a maximum depth of 31 meters where the exit to the open sea and large vertical riffs. Poseidon Castle The most interesting complex of underwater caves and a labyrinth at various depths of 2 – 17 meters deep, and after the cave, terrain falls down along the cliff to 46 meters where from many holes protrude horns of lobsters, little shoals of various fishes and in return at 42 meters you will see the old admirality anchor. Montenegrin submarine wreck Wreck Higgins, Rose Not far from the old fishing village Rose, at halfway to the former military warehouse Spiljice at a depth of 30-35 m is the wreck of the ship Higgins. The ship was built in the shipyard “M. Cetinjic “on the island of Korcula in 1952 and was serving as a Yugoslav navy torpedo boat until 1964, when reconstructed in shipyard “Arsenal”, Tivat as a gunboat. She was scrapped in 1972. Interesting fact: at this type of ship JF Kennedy has served in the army. Sailing from Tivat to Djenovic, the steamboat encountered an underwater mineand for just a few minutes sinks to the bottom pulling down a large number of crew, passengers and prisoners of war. Length 30 meters Capacity 100 BRT Depth 40-41 meters Barge for transport of fuel, Kumbor About this wreck is not known much, submerged at a depth of 18 to 22 meters and it s ideal for divers who first encounter with shipwrecks. The ship lies on a sandy bottom in Kumbor strait near the old Austro-Hungarian navy pier so that wreck probably originates from that time. Wreck of 14 tanks arranged in two rows, partially visible is the driving engine and nearby the wreck, wehave found the steering system. Airplane Spit Fire Spit Fire – the most famous fighter of World War II aircraft type “SUPER MARINE SPITFIRE” of British RAF. It lies at a depth of 32 meters at the entrance to the Bay between Cape Kabao and Cape Kobila. The plane was shot down by German anti-aircraft battery that was above Kumbor in September 1944. The pilot managed to jump out of the plane into the sea but German ships found and captured him. The length of the boat was about 32 meters, width of about 10 meters and there are still visible ship’s frames. Wreck Tihani The biggest shipwreck on the coast of Montenegro available for sports and recreational diving is known as the “steamboat”, lies at a depth of 40 m. The wreck is located in the straits between the the beach Dobrec and the island Lastavica (Mamula). Brod Tihana was built in the shipyard “Stabilimento Tecnico Triestino” in Trieste in 1907 and launched in 1908. She sailed under the Austro-Hungarian flag as a cargo ship for transport of machine oil and briquettes for steam engines. Her last voyage was in 191 when due to the bad navigation she hit in Cape Arza and sank. At the beginning of World War II in April 1941, she was captured by Italians, after the capitulation of Italy in 1943, the ship returns over Malta to former Yugoslav Navy. After the war, the ship became part of Yugoslav Navy and she was labeled SBR-91 and then PBR-91 Golešnica and than she was in active service until 1955 as a patrol boat. Bthe ship GOLESNICA 1979 sailed on her last assignment and was sunk as a target for artillery firing at the entrance to the Bay of Boka, near the cove Zanjic. The ship lies right on the edge of sandy bottom at a depth of 35 m. The ship, which was built in 1952 in Tito shipyard Kraljevica, served as a ship for monitoring and safeguarding of the state border of Yugoslavia. Scrapped in 1972 and in 1983 was used as a target for missile firing in the open sea, after the completion of the exercise she was towed to the entrance to the Bay of Kotor and sank in thecove Zanjic. Paragliding Club “Adriafly” from Herceg Novi, was established in 2008 when it was registered as a sports organization. Adriafly is a full member of the Aeronautical Association of Montenegro and Paragliding Association of Montenegro. If you want to try paragliding, the club runs also the international registered APPI (World Association of Pilots and Instructors) Paragliding School is managed by club’s professional team composed of internationally licensed instructors and two licensed tandem pilots. Takeoff which was built in 2010 is located on Dizdarica, 16km away from Herceg Novi and at 900m above sea level, offering a beautiful view of the Bay. The world’s most widely read newspaper of paragliding, French “Parapente Mag” in 2012 described the takeoff on Dizdarica as the best Takeoffs on Adriatic. The shortest flights last 20 minutes and the longest ones 5 hours. The youngest person to fly in the club she was 11 years old and the oldest was 82 years old.
