There's no doubt about it – this restaurant has set new standards from the first moment it was opened. Everything about this place says there is no room for compromise: carefully selected dishes taste superbly and are skillfully arranged so much that they never fail to impress.
It is with good reason that Dorian Grey gained itsreputation for being one of the best restaurants of international cuisine in Belgrade. Even itslocation speaks volumes to those who are willing to listen, while thetastefully designed interior combines massive wood elements in warm brown andlight brown tones with a plethora of details such as vintage paintings and oldbicycles hung on the walls. Dorian Grey attracts a variety of people ofdifferent sensibilities, but with one common interest - passion for great foodand an intimate, sophisticated atmosphere. All meals on the menu are preparedwith great skill and care, even the starters: there is nothing simple about theexquisite Russian Julienne, a traditional Russian dish with mushrooms, sourcream, and grated cheese, baked in the oven and served in rather unusual bowlswith crispy toasted bread, which only gives a hint about the richness of menu. You shouldn't ignore the excellent offer of soups and broths and missspecialties that will tease your palate, such as the extraordinary Potage Forestier, the traditionalRussian winter sour soup with turkey rasoljnik,or the Norwegian fish stew with red grouper. Choosing a dish from the main menumay, however, prove very difficult. We recommend that you start with hot lambsalad and a rich mixture of green salads with yoghurt and basil dressing as asophisticated and light introduction to most main dishes. If you are in themood for wild game, the best pick may be the Jägermeister Schnitzel, venison in sweet and piquant cherry andchestnut sauce, attractively served with cheese and potato croquettes. If caseyou prefer fish, you may like the solefish à la Dorian Gray, which best illustrates the culinary creativity ofthis restaurant. It is prepared by using a rather unconventional, butrefreshing combination of two different methods of fish preparation: fish rolledand poached with spinach and fish filets breaded in corn flour, served withspaghetti and vegetables in shrimp sauce. Experience the thrill of the Easterncuisine with a delicious beef chili in oyster and soy sauce with a dash offresh ginger and garlic, or try theexciting Indonesian dish ayam goreng(fried chicken drumsticks in exotic marinade), or maybe even the Lebanesespecialty - kebab with oriental spices, rice, and vegetables. Enjoy in thediversity of the European dishes such as the Russian skvarodka, beef steak Café deParis, and different pastas and risottos. Two full pages of desserts letyour imagination go wild: should you try the superb mascarpone pancakes or thefamous Dubrovnikrožada cake, chocolate soufflé orbrownies? Maybe you'd try the king of desserts - the Oscar Wilde chocolate cake with raspberry filling - or one of thebest cheesecakes in town?
Subtle changes and improvements of the menu, rotationof seasonal meals, occasional inclusion of certain exotic dishes, a rich winecard, and a long and extensive list of intriguing meals, are only some of thereasons why Dorian Grey stands out as one of the most prestigious, attractive, and authentic restaurants for selected clientele.
